Slaughter at Stakes Day 2018

Lets start by saying it was a terrible year of punting. We went with our betting formula of everyone having four betting weeks in a row with a $40 bet each week. At the end of our 36 weeks of betting we had one stand out punter managing to get us a return of minus $70, thats right, minus $70.

On our annual pilgrimage to Flemington we were two members down, one sick the other a knee operation. We walked in to the track with grand total of $2480, not great but still something to build on. We decided to give each of the seven present members $100 each to bet on whatever they liked. The rest of the money was for beer/food and boxed 7 trifectas in the remaining races.

We did have one collect early on. Joy, happiness an high fives soon turned into despair and finger pointing, when we discovered the bet had NOT been placed. Punting wise the day didn't get much better, one collect of $200, which of course was reinvested on a horse in Perth at around 6/1 only for that horse to be beaten on the line by a 40/1 shot. Summed up our punting really.

As usual though it was a great day of laughs, beer drinking and just good time in general.

Lets make 2019 the year of the Chosen 9.
